Does maple syrup need to be refrigerated?

Yes! Once opened your maple syrup should be stored in your fridge. Unopened, it is fine in a cupboard for an infinite amount of time. 

Is all of the syrup you sell from your property?

The majority of the syrup that we sell comes from the sap that we collected from our own property. 

Does the Bourbon Barrel Aged Maple syrup contain alcohol?

No, our Bourbon Barrel Aged Maple syrup does not contain any alcohol. Our maple syrup is aged in empty bourbon barrels for 6-9 months, but there is no alcohol present in the barrels. 

My maple syrup has crystallized, what should I do?

Gently reheat the maple syrup and it will re-liquify. You can do this by placing the container in a large bowl of hot water, or just heat the crystals directly in a pan on the stove.

Is your maple syrup organic?

No, we are not certified organic. However, we do not use any chemicals or pesticides on our maple trees, or add anything into our syrup during our boiling process. In order to be certified organic, these processes just need to be inspected and documented. 

How many calories are in maple syrup?

Maple syrup contains approximately 110 calories per 2 tablespoons. 

Does tapping for sap hurt the trees?

No, tapping does not hurt the trees. It creates a small hole in the tree that heals over quickly. The following season, we will tap in a different spot on the tree to keep it healthy. 

How long is maple syrup season?

Maple syrup season lasts an average of 4-6 weeks, typically between Jan-April.

How will I know what grade of syrup I will like?

The darker the color of syrup, the stronger the syrup flavor will be. The best plan would be to try them all and see which one you like the most. 

Can you use maple syrup as a substitute for sugar?

Yes! Simply use ¾ cups of maple syrup for 1 cup of cane sugar, then reduce other liquids by ¼ cup. 

How much sap does it take to make one gallon of maple syrup?

Between 40 and 50 gallons of sap to make one gallon of maple syrup. 

Is maple syrup gluten free?

Yes! 100% pure maple syrup is gluten free. 

Is maple syrup vegan?

Yes! 100% pure maple syrup is gluten free. 

Where do you ship your maple syrup products?

We ship anywhere in the continental U.S for a flat rate of $10. 

How long does it take to get my maple syrup products once I’ve ordered?

Typically, orders are processed the next business day and received within 2-4 days depending on the location. Tracking numbers will be emailed to you once it is shipped.
